Done correctly, small flyers will deliver big messages more effectively than other printed formats. Essentially, it’s the Twitter principle of keeping the message brief and focused. This is a long-held marketing principle that is often overlooked in the design world.
Small fliers come in many sizes; we offer four common sizes to choose from. The smallest of the small is a dainty feller measuring in at 4.25″ x 5.5″. Don’t let the small size fool ya, it packs a mean marketing punch by fitting perfectly in the pocket or purse so your customer can take your message with them.
Small flyers use fewer resources and generate less waste, too; especially with secondary use value built into the design such as a sports calendar, directory, or any other useful information your target audience will retain.
The perfectly pocket size, 3.5″ x 8.5″ is essentially the size of a typical letter-folded brochure. Add retention value to it by adding “at your finger tips” information for your customers, such as conversion charts, maintenance tips, or a glossary of terms typically used in your field but with which your customers are less familiar. “Retainable” pieces require aqueous coated 95# gloss cover which must endure repeated use.
On the reverse side of one clever piece we printed for an Auto Body Shop, was the diagram of an intersection along with a short form of necessary information to gather if ever in an accident. Now, who wouldn’t keep that handy in the glove box?
Create four coupons on either of the 4.25″ x 11″ or the 5.5″ x 8.5″ formats. Stagger the dates or the product specials. If the expiration date is very near, the 100# gloss text is sufficiently durable to withstand the rigors of being stashed in purse, wallet, or pocket. Distant expiration dates might require the 95# cover stock for a nominal up-charge. For a softer recycled appeal try our 70# uncoated text and 100# uncoated cover, both print beautifully calibrated colors and deliver that porous feel for appropriate applications.
Both the 5.5″ x 8.5″ and 4.25″ x 5.5″ sizes lend themselves to mini-handbill duty. Bands and other entertainers, promoting their upcoming appearances, often use these sizes for handouts at club exits.
